What to See and Do in
Often referred to as the loveliest of all of New Zealand's many lakes, few lakes are more beautiful and mysterious than Lake Manapouri.
The Manapouri Township is situated on the pristine shores of its namesake. Serving as the gateway to both the Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound. It’s also only a 20 minute drive from Te Anau, the hub of Fiordland.
Launches, boats, yachts and kayaks are popular activities on the lake and there are also many beautiful walking tracks in the surrounding area.
The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie trilogies had scenes filmed in this beautiful area.
