North Auckland

The North Eastern area of Auckland features New Zealand's first marine reserve established in 1975 which is teeming with fish and other sea life fantastic for snorkelling and Diving. There are two regional parks in the area, stunning walkways and many beautiful beaches.

The town of Warkworth acts as a gateway to the beach and wine areas to the east. The picturesque Matakana region is a foodie’s heaven known for its weekend farmers’ market, boutique food shops and spectacular vineyards.

The area is well known for its wineries and is interspersed with artists’ studios and country cafés and markets.
