Just a short drive from central Queenstown, you'll head into a hidden canyon surrounded by native beech forest, clear mountain water and dramatic rock formations. Once geared up, your experienced Canyon Explorers Queenstown guides will lead you through a fast-moving adventure packed with ziplining, abseiling, natural rock slides, jumps, pools and narrow canyon passageways.

The water shapes every canyon, so no two sections feel quite the same. You'll climb, swim, slide and move your way through a spectacular natural playground while your guides provide all the technical instruction and support you need along the way.

The Half-Day Canyoning Adventure is a great introduction to canyoning. It is ideal for first-timers, families with older children, couples, friends and adventurous travellers wanting to experience a wilder side of Queenstown without committing to a full day.

No previous canyoning experience is required, but guests should have a reasonable level of fitness and be confident moving through water.

After the adventure, return to our central Queenstown base where hot showers and hot drinks are waiting. Free photos of your experience are also included so that you can take the memories home with you.

Before your adventure, please complete the Health and Safety Pre-Tour Check-In Form for every person in your booking.

On the day

Please arrive wearing your swimwear and bring:

A towel
A non-cotton thermal layer for extra warmth
Any personal medication you may need
Your GoPro, should you want to capture the adventure

Your guides will welcome you at our Queenstown base, get you fitted with all the specialist canyoning gear and take you through a full safety briefing before heading to the canyon.

We provide:

Transport to and from the canyon
Wetsuit and canyoning booties
Helmet and specialist technical equipment
Full safety instruction and briefing
Support from our experienced canyoning guides
Tea and coffee after your adventure

From there, it’s time to jump, slide, zipline and abseil your way through the canyon.
