Nestled on the edge of Lake Wānaka, The Sauna Wānaka is a lakeside wellness experience designed to reconnect you with nature, calm your mind, and revitalize your body.

Our hand-crafted sauna sits on the lakefront, offering sweeping mountain views and the unique opportunity to combine hot and cold therapy in one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking settings. Step into the warmth of the cedar-lined sauna, let the natural heat ease your muscles, and then plunge straight into the icy waters of Lake Wānaka for a refreshing dip. This contrast, known as hot/cold therapy, boosts circulation, reduces stress, and leaves you feeling truly alive....

Meeting Point

The Sauna Wānaka is located on the lakefront at The Outlet. This is a 6km drive from downtown Wānaka. Please park as indicated by the signage, on your left just as you reach the bottom of Outlet Road. The sauna is located a 1-minute walk west of the parking lot. 

Additional Information

Please arrive at the sauna at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled session time. You need time to get signed in, changed, and showered, and we start sessions on time.

Bring sandals for the walk to the lake, a drink bottle, and two towels (one for inside the sauna and one for afterward). We have towel rental available as needed.

The temperature is between 80-90°C.

Move through three 15-minute sauna rounds, with time for cooling off or a cold lake dip! The rounds are silent in the sauna, with socialising in between. These sessions are structured with everyone moving through the 3 timed rounds together. For seasoned sauna pros through to beginners (although you might like the Guided Session if this is your first sauna).
