Aoraki Mount Cook offers a variety of exciting activities for visitors of all levels. Walking and hiking are very popular here, with many trails starting from Mount Cook Village. You can choose short walks that take just 10 minutes or longer hikes lasting several hours. One favourite route is the Hooker Valley Track, which is mostly flat and offers stunning views of glaciers, lakes, and towering peaks. For experienced hikers, the Mueller Hut Route is a challenging climb that rewards you with panoramic mountain views and the chance to stay overnight in the mountain hut.
Cycling is also available, including the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail, which passes by beautiful rivers and lakes. In winter, skiing trips to the Tasman Glacier and boating on Tasman Lake are popular.
