Tourist Information About West Auckland

West Auckland is a coastal and forested region just a short drive from the city centre. The Waitākere Ranges Regional Park offers native bush, waterfalls, and black‑sand beaches. You can visit a 30 m waterfall surrounded by forest. Walk just ten minutes from the car park to reach it.

The area has peaceful beaches like Bethells and Karekare. These beaches have dramatic sand dunes and wild surf, and they were featured in a major film. Arataki Visitor Centre is the main gateway to the ranges. It sits atop a ridge and offers viewing decks over native forest and the gulf. There is a short educational walk through different forest types.

Titirangi village sits on the edge of the ranges. The place has creative studios, a local gallery, leafy streets, and viewpoints over harbours. You can feel the bohemian history in its quiet art spaces. The region blends bush, beaches, art, and small‑town charm. It feels natural and unhurried.
