Tourist Information About Whangarei

Whangārei is a great place for easy, outdoor activities. You can walk or cycle along riverside paths, explore native bush, or relax at a beach nearby. The Hātea Loop is a short walking track near the town centre that passes art, parks, and the marina.

Whangārei Falls is one of the best places for a nature walk. The track is short and takes you to the base and top of the falls. It’s a good spot for photos and a quiet rest. You can also go kayaking or paddleboarding in calm parts of the harbour. The water is usually gentle, making it safe and fun. Fishing, swimming, and snorkelling are also possible at beaches not far from the city.

If you like art, you can visit galleries or take part in small workshops. The city has a creative feel, with murals and sculptures in many places. There are also scenic drives, gardens, and nearby parks to explore at your own pace.
