There’s plenty to do around the Kāpiti Coast if you enjoy the outdoors. One of the most popular adventures is the Paekākāriki Escarpment Track. It’s a 10-kilometre walking trail with lots of stairs, swing bridges, and amazing views over the sea. For a more relaxed option, head to Queen Elizabeth Park. You can walk, bike, or even ride horses along the trails. Inside the park, there’s also the Wellington Tramway Museum, where you can see old trams.
If you're into cars, the Southward Car Museum has hundreds of classic vehicles. Animal lovers can visit Ngā Manu Nature Reserve in Waikanae to see native birds up close. You can even go on a night tour to spot a kiwi. Other fun things to try include brewery tours at Tuatara Brewery, sweet treats from the Kapiti Chocolate Factory, beach horseback rides, mountain biking, and scenic flights with Kāpiti Heliworx.
