Kates Horse Riding concepts are centred around bonding the riders and horses with their energies, combining. The horse Riding centre is a large farm with plenty of things to do, specialising in horses, with horse trekking and riding activities, including a farm/beach ride in a beautiful setting for horse riding in the Bay of Islands. Kates Riding Centre facilities include a 100 x 60 metre sand all-weather arena, a 20 x 32 metre square covered arena, a 20 metre round pen and a 2 km exercise track set on 466 acres of rolling farmland. Our specialised equestrian farm, just 10 minutes from Kerikeri, caters for riders of all abilities; previous experience is not necessary. We can offer you stunning farm horse riding activities on a picturesque farm with beautiful views of the Kerikeri Inlet. Enjoy a relaxing horse ride, or do more challenging things to do, depending on your ability. We have our own cross-country course available for use as well. Horse Treks: Horse riding on the Farm Horse trekking activities are approximately 1 hour. Cost is $80 per adult and $70 per child. We can cater for small and large groups and can usually arrange a time to suit you. For young children, we recommend a horse trek of 1 hour. We can lead very young children on one of our small ponies.  We can arrange horse treks for most days at a time suitable for you.  Horse Treks: Horse Riding on the Beach If you are looking for adventurous things to do near Kerikeri, this is the perfect activity. Kates Horse Riding Centre offers beach treks to order if given enough notice, which leave from the farm from where we transport the horses to a beach location approximately 40 minutes' drive away. We will take you on a full beach horse riding experience. This horse trek activity takes approximately 3 hours. Take in stunning farm and ocean views as you make your way around the local Kerikeri Purerua Peninsula.  Cost approx $230 per person. Minimum 2 riders; however, costs vary according to numbers, so please call to enquire. It does involve transporting horses to a beach location, so it is a greater cost.  Horse treks: Weekend retreat horse treks This really is the full package! Ride to your heart's content along the exquisite peninsula coast and relax in picturesque beachside accommodation with delicious food and beverages. This Horse trekking activity is for groups of 8 to 12 people of all levels of experience, with plenty of guides, which allows for some riders to pick up the pace whilst others can choose to take it more slowly. Horse Riding Lessons Kate's Riding Centre specialises in horse riding lessons for all ages at all levels, from beginners to advanced riders. Summer Pony Camps Kate's Riding Centre offer Pony Camps for all ages (including adults) and abilities during the school holidays. All camps run from 1.00 pm Monday to 12.00 pm Friday. This is an intensive five days of horses, and it’s good fun for everyone, giving a real confidence boost in a positive environment and the opportunity to form new friendships with other riders, horses and instructors. The camps are run at Kates Horse Riding Centre farm, where you can enjoy riding activities in the all-weather sand arena, hacking over the farm and exploring the cross-country course.  All equipment/tack will be supplied, and you will be taught the techniques about caring for the horse and improving your overall awareness and relationship with the horse. The Pony Camps are run at our farm. The cost includes all tuition, use of horse and tack during camp, accommodation and food. Accommodation is provided in Kate’s house, where you will be supervised by the “camp mum”. (Please note the week and price do not include food or accommodation for adults.)
