KWIZINE TOUR - TASTES OF THE BAY OF PLENTY

After picking you up from The Port of Tauranga, or local accommodation, we travel North through scenic countryside to Avocado NZ, Aongetete.

Nestled in the heart of Katikati, the self-proclaimed "Avocado Capital of New Zealand," your immersive orchard experience includes an informative ‘walk and talk’ around the picturesque orchard, led by the grower. You’ll learn about the fascinating superfood, its history, the unique characteristics of the trees, and the seasonal activities that occur in the orchard. After the stroll, your taste buds will be tantalised with delectable avocado treats, from scrumptious guacamole to creamy avocado ice cream.
We will then move on to BeeNZ.

The venue also makes beautiful candles, chocolates, skincare & other delights. You will receive a presentation, tasting & factory tour.
On the days BEENZ is not available, the venue alternates with But First Dessert.
We travel back south to the small seaside village of Omokora, where a Fish and Chip lunch will be enjoyed. From Thursday to Sunday, lunch will be at the Omokoroa Boat Club. Monday -Wednesday, the lunch will be at The Village Green Restaurant. 
We will continue back towards Tauranga, briefly stopping at a kiwifruit orchard where the kiwifruit industry will be explained, from planting through to the beautiful edible fruit & export & you will be given the opportunity of tasting the fruit
The Minden Lookout is our next stop. From this vantage point, you are treated to a panoramic view of the entire Coastal Bay of Plenty. On a clear day, you can see White Island, an active volcano.
On days when BeeNZ is not available (usually Saturday & Sunday), we visit But First Dessert, which was the winner of the Plates of Plenty Judges' Choice Award. Its owner says that it's nice to be able to celebrate her chef's creativity using local products & to have the opportunity to give clients something different that they wouldn't usually make themselves. You will have a delicious dessert here.
We then return you to ship-side (or local accommodation) via what we claim is the best beach in the Southern Hemisphere.
