Time for Inflatable Kayaks

We realise that with a variety of ages, not everybody wants to sit in the raft all day. This is the situation where we put on some inflatable kayaks. These stable, easily manoeuvred boats are heaps of fun and will get young teens (and adults) smiling from ear to ear as they run some of the easy rapids.

A Stunning Canyon with a Picnic Lunch

On the way down, immense cliffs cradle the river canyon. It is in one of these sections that we stop and have a picnic lunch. From there, it is a relaxing float out to the take-out, followed by a scenic drive back to River Valley Lodge.

What is Included?

This is a full-day, guided trip, starting at 9.30 am and finishing at approximately 3.30 pm. The price of the trip includes a picnic lunch on the river and all rafting equipment (helmet, wetsuit, thermals, boots, life jacket). All you need to bring is swimwear and a towel.

Who is the Trip Suitable For?

As the rapids on this trip are easy, grade 1-2, it is suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels. We can take children as young as 5 years.

This trip can also be run as a gentle float trip with oared rafts, especially suitable for older or less active participants. Alternatively, we can run the trip in inflatable kayaks for those looking for a more active trip. Please let us know if you have a preference.

Where Does The Trip Start and Finish?

The trip starts and finishes at River Valley Lodge, 32 km from Taihape. The lodge has accommodation and a bar, and a restaurant.
