The vibrant North Auckland Bays run up the east coast from downtown Auckland and starts with a 12 minute ferry ride from the central city to Devonport. Devonport is packed with 19th century buildings, amazing views and is known for local arts and crafts galleries. The whole Northern Bay / North Shore area with Devonport, Takapuna, Milford and Orewa beaches is laced with long sandy beaches with stunning views of the islands in the Hauraki Gulf and filled with many beach activities, great shopping, excellent cafés, restaurants and activities.
