All tariffs are per person.

A minimum of two adult fares are required for these prices, for all flights. Flights and exact routes are subject to weather permitting and at the sole discretion of the pilot in order to maintain safety for both passengers and aircraft.

Each float plane can carry up to 5 passengers. Weight restrictions do apply.

We require total combined passenger’s weight and if individual passenger weight exceeds 110kg it is imperative that our office is informed prior to flight. This is a Civil Aviation and Aircraft Manufacture requirement to ensure our aircraft operate with in its weight and balance limitations. Failure to supply accurate combined weights could result in your departure time being altered or in some instances additional costs being applied.

A standard tariff applies up to a maximum individual passenger weight of 110kg.

While the pathways leading to the Visitor Center are wheelchair accessible, the main geothermal area involves a self-guided walk with many steps and uneven terrain, making it challenging for visitors with limited mobility.
 

Can visitors swim in any of the thermal pools?

No, swimming is not permitted in any of the thermal pools at Orakei Korako. Access to the Ruatapu Cave pool is restricted due to safety concerns, and the thermal waters are acidic and not suitable for bathing.
 

What are the opening hours of Orakei Korako Cave & Thermal Park?

Orakei Korako is open daily from 8:30 AM, with the last ferry departing for the thermal area at 4:30 PM and returning at 5:00 PM.
 

Are pets allowed in Orakei Korako Cave & Thermal Park?

Yes, pets are allowed at Orakei Korako, provided they remain on a leash at all times and are sociable with people and other animals.
 

What is the best time of year to visit for optimal weather and geyser activity?

The best time to visit Orakei Korako is during the warmer months, from December to February, when the weather is warmer and the days are longer. However, visiting in autumn can offer unique experiences, as the cooler temperatures bring out the best in the parks geothermal features, with algae growth adding vibrant colors to the pools and mud pots.

What happens if it rains or the bad weather on that day ?

Poor weather means cancellation or rescheduling, with a full refund offered if conditions are unsafe.
 

What kind of dress should I wear for the tour?

You are recommended to wear warm layered clothing and comfortable closed-toe shoes.
