Parasailing in the Bay of Islands

At 1,300 feet above the Bay of Islands, the world goes quiet. That's the experience waiting for you with Flying Kiwi Parasail - New Zealand's highest parasail and one of the Bay of Islands' most memorable adventures, operating from Paihia Wharf with a perfect safety record built over more than 20 years.

Your flight departs gently from a custom-designed parasailing boat, lifting you smoothly above the water and the islands below. At altitude, what surprises most people is just how peaceful it is - floating above 144 beautiful islands, crystal-clear water, and the dramatic coastline stretching out toward the Hole in the Rock and beyond. On a clear day you can spot sailboats passing beneath you, watch dolphins moving through the water below, and take in views that simply can't be experienced any other way.

Solo, tandem, and triple flights are available, making it ideal for couples, families, and groups wanting to share the experience together. The boat accommodates up to twelve people, so non-flyers can come along for the ride and watch. For the more adventurous, the specially designed harnesses even allow you to hang upside down. And in summer, ask the skipper about an optional dip in the water before you land.

A GoPro video package is available to capture the whole experience, so you don't have to choose between filming and enjoying the view.

Each Parasail flight lasts approximately 10 minutes in the air and the entire duration of the trip is between 1-1.5 hours depending on how many people that is on the boat with you.  Everyone onboard takes turns to go up in the parachute. So make sure to let us know what your favorite tunes are. Our boats can carry up to 14 passengers on board per trip.
