Bike The Lake Dunstan Trail With A Return Luxury Mercedes Shuttle

Experience one of NZ's Official Great Rides, 42km of purpose-built trail. Bike from Cromwell to historic Clyde, meet the shuttle, and return back to Cromwell in our luxury Mercedes Sprinter. The Dunstan Trail is a Grade 1-3 Trail. The surface is good throughout (compact gravel). There are two 150m climbs which the e-bike option will help you to get to the top, with very little effort involved, if you choose to use your high 'power assist' mode! The trail is a stunning ride, opened in May 2021 - a feat of engineering. You will enjoy riding on the 450m of 'clip-ons' to the mountainside and also over the 85m long Hugo suspension bridge. In total, there are about 2.5 hours of actual riding, so you have time to briefly stop at the Carrick Winery and Burger Afloat for refreshments along the way.

Full Description

The Dunstan Trail is a Grade 1-3 Trail. The surface is good throughout (compact gravel). There are two 150m climbs which the e-bike option will help you to get to the top, with very little effort involved, if you choose to use your high 'power assist' mode!

The trail is a stunning ride, opened in May 2021, a feat of engineering. You will enjoy riding on the 450m of 'clip-ons' to the mountainside and also over the 85m long Hugo suspension bridge. In total, there are about 2.5 hours of actual riding, so you have time to briefly stop at the Carrick Winery and Burger Afloat for refreshments along the way.

Meet at 0930hrs (please be there 10 mins earlier) at The Cromwell Junction Lookout on the corner of Alpha and Inniscort Street.

You will see a black Mercedes Luxury Sprinter marked nzbiketrails.

Please park opposite the Lookout on Alpha Street, where there are no parking restrictions.

Additional pickups are available from the Wanaka Lakefront bus-stop at 08:30hrs, Luggate at 08:40hrs, and Pisa Moorings at 09:00hrs.

This experience starts from The Junction Lookout, Cromwell - pickups are available from Wanaka with prompt departures from Wanaka Lakeside Bus Stop at 08:30hrs, Luggate 08:40hrs, Pisa Moorings 09:00hrs. Please be at the selected pickup or meeting point 10-15 minutes early, as the transport cannot wait.
