Makana Confections specialises in gift-quality confections - all hand-made on site and using only the freshest, natural ingredients available to us. The Makana Chocolate Cafe is right next door making Makana one of the best things to do while visiting Kerikeri.   Makana Confections is open from 9.00am to 5.30pm daily, and the Chocolate Café in Kerikeri 8.30am to 5pm 7 Days a week.

A great attraction and fun thing to do whilst in Kerikeri is to visit our working chocolate factory for a free sample! Makana Confections is set up like a winery / cellar door where you can watch how we make our chocolates, taste a few samples and, of course, shop for delicious chocolates.

Makana Chocolates are all hand made on the premesis and offer a delicious range of Classic Truffles which blend fresh cream with chocolate, are delicately flavoured and hand dipped to perfection, the Truffle Medley is a selection of four truffles and is a very special gift. For a particularly decadent treat try the Marlborough Pinot Noir Truffles which are dipped in our fabulous 72% high cocoa content Etienne chocolate. All offering a decadent treat which will have you coming back for more.   Mouth-watering ‘Fruit Favourites’ are prepared using natural fresh or dried fruits producing a range of flavoursome fruity connections. The Rum & Raisin Panache contains raisins that have been soaked in Rum for at least 28 days.   Makana's ‘Naturally Nutty’ range are made up of Macadamia Nuts, Walnuts and Hazelnuts and combined with toffee, caramel and chocolate offer you a crunch sensation.   ‘Other Tempations’ include Chocolate Dipped Macadamia Shortbread, Orange Biscotti, Classic Caramels and Sugar-Free chocolate products and Wine Gelees.   For that extra special occasion and a touch of elegance our ‘Champagne Truffles’ blend chocolate, fresh cream and fine cognac, are hand dipped in white satin chocolate and individually packed.   Makana Confections never skimp on the premium ingredients and neither do we add artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives. All Makana's products are made by hand in small batches, packed by hand. Our commitment to quality doesn’t stop with the products inside the boxes, our packaging is clean, crisp and the gift wrapping designed to make a quality first impression.   What makes Makana special?   Freshness!
