Drive Through Bombay Hills Into Waikato Region

The Bombay Hills are a range of hills to the south of Auckland, New Zealand. Though only a small and seemingly insignificant range of hills, they lie at the southern boundary of the Auckland region, and serve as a divide between Auckland and the Waikato region. directly named after the ship Bombay, The ship itself was named after the Indian city of Bombay (now Mumbai). Bombay Means: a breed of black short-haired medium-sized cat.

Journey Into Waitomo Region

Te Awamutu calls itself the ‘Rose Capital of New Zealand’. During the blooming season, November to April, the garden next to the visitor centre is a technicolour dream as 2000 rose bushes turn on the charm.

Underworld Black Water Adventure Experience

Following a safety briefing, put on your wetsuit, helmet and light before heading underground. Your three-and-a-half-hour adventure takes you along a subterranean river, floating beneath thousands of glowworms and exploring chambers filled with intricate limestone formations. Discover hidden waterfalls and clear springs as your guides share insights into the cave’s natural history. Optional rock jumps, swim-throughs and narrower passages offer extra challenges for those who wish to try them, with your guides helping you navigate the route. Back above ground, follow a native bush trail to base, where a hot shower and warm cedar hot tub provide a welcome finish.
