Full Description

Our Explorer journey departs from Kinloch Marina, just a short 20-minute drive from Taupō township. Visit the Otupoto Falls and others, and take a short bush walk from the secluded Kotukutuku Landing to the top of another waterfall.

Explore dramatic coastlines and stop off in a secluded Bay for locally supplied coffee and tea, before cruising the coastline on our way back to Kinloch.

If the weather permits, there might even be time for a swim.

Meeting Point

As our guests, please park in the berth holder-only carpark at the end of Kinloch Esplanade. You'll see our flag at the meeting point in the car park.

Kinloch Marina is a short 20-minute drive from the Taupō township. The marina has 2 entrances, with road signage directing you to the Mata Place entrance.
Please note that we are located at the alternate marina entrance at the end of Kinloch Esplanade.

Yes, we’re super proud to serve up freshly ground and brewed Sacred Ground coffee, or your pick of black or green tea, all paired with a yummy chocolate biscuit!

What should I wear for the cruise?

You are recommended to wear comfortable clothing and bring a light jacket, as temperatures can vary on the lake.

Do you have a toilet onboard?

No, please use the public toilet in the Kinloch Marina before boarding.

We do, however, stop off at a toilet on the lakeside about halfway through our journey.

Can we bring food & snacks?

Yes, you are welcome to bring food and snacks with you.

What happens if it rains or the bad weather on that day ?

Poor weather means cancellation or rescheduling, with a full refund offered if conditions are unsafe.

What is the maximum group size allowed for this tour?

Groups can include up to 8 people.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel up to 24 hours before the activity begins and receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start time are not eligible for a refund.
