Full Description

Meet the NZBiketrails team at Cromwell. You will be provided with a route overview, a safety briefing, and an introduction to your e-bike, including the assist levels and setting up your seat height. Once ready, you will cycle the Lake Dunstan Trail from Cromwell to Clyde, 42km of purpose-built trail which was opened in May 2021.

The Dunstan Trail is a Grade 1-3 Trail. The surface is good throughout (compact gravel). There are two 150m climbs which your e-bike will help you to get to the top, with very little effort involved, if you choose to use your high 'power assist' mode!

Meeting Point

Please meet next to the Public Toilets at Cromwell McNulty Inlet at 09:10hrs. Please park your vehicle on the left-hand side of the toilets so that boats and trailers are still able to use the slipway and turn.

The nzbiketrails Mercedes Sprinter will pick you up from this location at 09:10 hours and transport you to the start. Please ensure that you are ready at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before, as the vehicle cannot wait if you are late and will be transporting other guests.

Additional pickups are available with prompt departures from Wanaka Lakeside Bus Stop at 08:30hrs, Luggate 08:40hrs, and Pisa Moorings 09:00hrs.

Please be at the selected pickup or meeting point 10-15 minutes early, as the transport cannot wait.

1. Wear weather-appropriate clothing.
2. If it is warm, please ensure that you bring sunscreen
3. If it is Winter, when it is cooler, please bring gloves
4. Each bike holds up to 2 x 700ml water bottles that you can buy from any convenience store
