Albatross Encounter is all about birds and in particular albatross and a range of other seabird species found in abundance close to shore, along the Kaikoura Coast. This tour is an outstanding opportunity to see first hand the beauty of these magnificent birds and to learn about their habits and habitats, the threats to their well being and why we must take every opportunity we can, to protect them.
The Albatross Encounter tour offers an "up close view" of Kaikoura's inspiring range of seabirds and in particular, the majestic albatross. Regarded as the "albatross capital of the world", simply because of the diversity of albatross species that can be found in one compact location so close to shore; the sightings that are typically viewed on our tour will not disappoint. In just 2.5 hours you will see an array of different species which is impressive, providing superb photography opportunities to create special memories of your tour experience. Informative and factual comentary provided by our experienced birding specilaists is also a highlight. Tours operate daily except Christmas day and advance bookings are recommended.
